Quiz

I’ve wanted to blog many times over the past couple months, but felt no one was left to read it. But today I’m blogging anyway. Because I know like 6 of you will read it. To jump back into it, I’m copying Katie and answering 5 questions.

  1. At the top of your wishlist right now….The perfect swimsuit (does it exist?), all the skin care treatments available — facial, botox, fillers, peels. Skin care has become a recent obsession (post about my new routine forthcoming). article-thumb1
  2. Blog(s) you’re loving lately….My friends’ blogs The Perks and Winchester Wife. Jessica actually got me to watch The Bachelor because of her hilarious recap posts. I might be hooked which I never thought I’d ever say…ever. Other than those I literally only read a handful of others…i suwannee and despite her extreme perfection, I still love Liz of Sequins & Stripes. Pretty in Pink Megan and Cupcakes & Cashmere are long time favorites. Dog puppy with cat in front of a laptop isolated on white background
  3. Favorite thing about spring….Longer days, getting some color on my ghostly gray skin, and flowers of course.tanning-mother-620x338
  4. The next trip you’re taking….Mike & I are attempting another vacation, hopefully this one without disaster (another post for another day), to the Florida Keys. We are staying in Islamorada but will rent a car and explore. I’m looking forward to it and hope it is nice and warm.600x600_1316019102458-beachocean
  5. TV show you can’t stop watching….Fresh Meat! On a recent girls weekend with Emily & Kelly Ann we decided to watch some Netflix. For some odd reason we chose to start this show and it is super hilarious.  I have also been watching The Family on ABC. It is a new show and it is fantastic.tv-fresh_meat-2011_-howard_maccallum-greg_mchugh-tshirts-s01e02-geologists_go_deeper_tshirt

Randoms

I watched all eight seasons of Dexter in an embarrassingly short amount of time. I followed that up with season one of The Following. I can’t wait for season two to come to Netflix. Now I am at a loss…what next? I was thinking The Killing…but that is a lot of murder television for one person.

Blogging/grammin observations: 1. Everyone got the new BareMinerals liquid foundation to review? I do kind of want to try it now, so mission accomplished. 2. I, too, want the palm leaf Target bikini 3. I do not have a glamorous “i’m packing for vacation” pic 4. Everyone is pregnant 5. How many more peony pictures can one girl take?

The only thing I have the energy to cook for supper is a frozen pizza.

Random Round Up

My custom Lucchese boots are finally home. I am pretty obsessed with them. Never have I ever had such a great pair of boots and I plan to wear them for life.  Why do I always take selfies pre-makeup?!

I have been traveling an enormous amount lately for work which has meant a lot of lonely nights in hotels. Somehow I started watching New Girl on Netflix…this is strange because Zooey Douchewhatever is not someone I would typically like, but I love the show. It is seriously funny and cute. So watch it if you are looking for a new tv binge. Yesterday I was cleaning, it was raining, and Mike was napping, so I reluctantly started Breaking Bad. It is good. Duh.

We were supposed to have a big yard sale yesterday, but it rained on our parade. Everything in our house has a price tag on it. We are selling everything except the tufted craigslist sofa and chair I recently purchased, my favorite RL blue & white lamps, a couple sets of awesome pillows…and that’s pretty much it. I want a big yellow sign on the front of our house that says “EVERYTHING MUST GO” like furniture stores keep out year round. I have given away, donated, consigned or ebay’d probably 10 garbage bags worth of clothes and at least 50% of my shoe collection this year. It is an amazing feeling to have space in my closet again.

And last but not least, a Pinterest recipe round up:

One Pot Chicken Risotto – so I was thinking this was going to be a quick, easy version of real risotto. But it is just like making actual risotto except you add some chicken. It actually took longer to get the right consistency IMO. Probably won’t make it again.

Spicy Avocado Chicken Enchiladas – these were the heat. Delicious, easy, amazing the next day too. I will make these a million more times. I love enchiladas and this was a different type of sauce that is a great alternative to the red kind. Katie Perks…if you haven’t made these yet, you need to asap.

Easy White Chicken Chili – This was pretty good, especially if you aren’t afraid of a little cumin. I omitted the beans because they are gross to me, but next time I might add black beans instead of no beans at all.

Crispy Southwest Chicken Wraps – These were delicious. I totally hate all kinds of Mexican food, obvi. Cooking these in a skillet gives them a nice crispy outside. I will make these again and again.

Recipes on my radar:

Italian Drunken Noodles

Pretzel Cookies with Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chips – Whoa. Pretzels and chocolate always make me think of my sister. I will definitely be making these for the holidays.

Kale and Chicken Egg Rolls – I love homemade egg rolls. I usually bake mine, and would probably do that with these to make them a teeny bit healthier.

Chicken Sausage Brown Rice Stuffing with Celery and Mushrooms – um, Yum.

So that was like 3 posts in one, but one post is better than none.

Weekend

I had the house to myself this weekend and went full hermit. It was awesome. Mostly because this happened:

Rachel convinced me that Friday Night Lights should be the next series to start on Netflix, and man oh man. There’s not much in this world more gorgeous than Tim Riggins. Plus I love football shows/movies, I love Texas, and I love Connie Britton’s hair.  I’m not even going to tell you how many episodes I watched from Friday to Sunday, it is just embarrassing.

One thing the show reminded me is how great cowboy boots are. I wear them almost everyday for work, so they lose some of their appeal for non-work outfits, but now I am really wanting a new pair. I had a fabulous pair that I had resoled twice, but they finally died, and 3 pairs since that have just not fit the bill. The perfect boot is hard to find.

I found this on google images, and had to post. And this displays how cute cowboy boots can be. Especially paired with Tim. Let’s discuss…did y’all have any guys in high school that looked like Tim? Or any of the guys that play high school boys on tv? I don’t think so.

On another note, Lake Bell and her boobs. Probably hubs favorite part of How to Make it in America, the great show that didn’t make it on HBO.

How was your weekend friends? Do tell.

Let’s Talk T.V.

I’m not a huge TV watcher. I can NEVER remember when anything comes on, always forget to set the DVR, and we live in timbuktu where On Demand does not exist. Can you believe such blasphemy?! That being said, I have recently enjoyed the marathons of internet TV thanks to Netflix, which has gotten me more in the TV watching mood. Right now the only thing set on my DVR is Teen Wolf and Pretty Little Liars. What can I say? They are both excellent high school dramas. I do watch TrueBlood real time, although I have not really been impressed this season…What are your thoughts? Not enough Eric IMO.

With TV on the brain, I have been wondering when the shows I like are coming back on…so I looked them up and figured why not share with y’all? Here goes…Summer’s Fall TV Guide:

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA (FX): Wednesday, September 4

Question: What show should I start next on Netflix? I’ve heard good things about Damages. DO TELL!

and just because….#OITNB

H&M Online

First Zara and now H&M! Finally e-commerce has happened for us here in the USofA. I will say I was not overcome with online shopping euphoria when browsing the site. Hopefully there will be more selection in the future. Am I alone with this thought? Regardless, my add to cart looks like this…

HandMI definitely love the mixed media look we started seeing a lot last fall, and I want to pull the trigger this year. This shape is one of my favorites for coats.

The jumpsuit makes me think of Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface, but I find it appealing nonetheless.

I love anything with a dog printed on it. Unless it is a pug. Sorry pug lovers.

Tortoise pointed pumps, yes please.

Followed by some classic, comfy pieces in my favorite daring colors…white & gray.

Sidenote: I finished up Orange is the New Black today. Who else is watching? What say you?
